Start Healing Together began at Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, NJ. It is comprised of 20 staff members, so this organization is one by teachers for teachers. Some members have personally experienced infertility or pregnancy loss, which has impacted their personal relationships, and others simply want to offer their support. Regardless, our members are meant to serve as liaisons for whomever needs support: parents, grandparents, friends, family members, coworkers, etc.

Start Healing Together is currently expanding by establishing chapters in schools across NJ. We are also hoping to expand across the U.S. Please see the About and Contact sections for more information.

The goal for our organization is trifold: to make members aware of their rights, to offer emotional support, and to direct them to helpful resources.

This kind of grief can be very difficult to navigate, especially considering the stigma surrounding infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth, and neonatal loss. To help alleviate the stigma, we encourage open dialogue. We hope that the information from our group can provide comfort to those that need it most.

Grief is like the ocean; it comes on waves ebbing and flowing.
Sometimes the water is calm, and sometimes it is overwhelming.
All we can do is learn to swim.

How very softly you tiptoed into our world, almost silently,
only a moment you stayed.

But what an imprint your footsteps have left upon our hearts.
